						This is as good as no-sight car buying can get and I 100% recommend using these guys. Take your time, work with them, and you'll get exactly what you want. I was in the market for a Skyline and told Yoshiro what I was looking for ('98 or older, RWD, no rust, no accidents). He asked a few questions to gauge how much I cared about different aspects. I sent them the deposit and got started. From there I used their auction database to find cars I was interested in and I spent about a month looking at different auctions. Many times Yoshiro would discover something about the car I wouldn't have caught that made it a no-go, and his honesty probably saved me from a few lemons. Eventually this R34 closed without meeting reserve, and Yoshiro guided me through the negotiations process (which I was completely unfamiliar with). You only need 1 bank transfer to pay the rest of the fees which simplifies things. After that was done he got the car moved to the shipping yard. This was during peak covid, so of course there were tons of delays getting it onto a ship. Yoshiro provided regular updates, and once it was loaded he immediately sent me all the relevant documents and helped me find a broker to transport it from the port to my house. I'm extremely happy with the car and am super grateful that I had the help I did from the JCD guys to get it. It was honestly way simpler and easier than I thought it was going to be, and I almost prefer it to buying from dealerships!

						Awesome experience working with the guys at Japan Car Direct, I was looking to find a specific spec J90 Land Cruiser Prado (2 door, black, low milage) and managed to locate one at a used car dealer in Japan. Mason helped every step of the way to coordinate with the dealer, make the deal, transport the car to the port, coordinate with the port staff to store the Prado till it turned 25 years on the month (had to sit at the port a couple months), and then finally have the Prado cleaned before it was loaded on the boat. Lots of pictures always accompanied updates and any questions I had were answered with no problems. Everything was super easy and zero stress. Definitely will be using these guys again in the future!

						I had been searching for someone to purchase a car through for about 3months before I found these guys. These guys should be your only consideration when buying from japan. They are the only group I can say I had no red flags with. I worked with Matt, and he couldn’t have been more helpful. The process was made so easy I’m thinking about my next purchase. I was able to find my 1 owner Supra at an amazing price one day before the auction and began to panic because I thought I wasn’t able to get in touch that fast to coordinate the bid. But I was wrong and he was able to get right in there and get it. All estimated wait times were accurate, and was pointed in the right direction for every piece I needed after the car was shipped out. He was able to provide a go to for it all. Making this almost as easy as an Amazon purchase. It’s kinda unreal that you can just buy a car from Japan this easily, but these guys made it happen. Thanks again.

						After doing a bit of research I settled on using JCD to bid at the Japanese auctions for me and to facilitate the import of my dream car into Australia. Whenever I saw a car of interest, Mason would normally reply within an hour with a short video translating the Japanese auction sheet and additional info he had. They also organised additional inspections and photos at your request before you bid. Once I placed a winning bid, they used a partner shipping company (Dolphin shipping) and transferred all the info to them. From there the shipping company had a few extra questions and shipped my car and sent me an invoice for their services just before the car landed in AUS. These guys are very accessible, friendly and do a great job. Highly recommend. Thanks Mason for a job well done!

Mathew took me through the selection process, helped steer me away from potentially bad deals, and communicated regularly once I had selected my vehicle. He took me through the export process, and recommended Armin at EasyISF to help with the import process. I was able to track my van across the ocean, and Armin helped me work through customs clearance up through the day I picked up my tiny van. Sometimes you have to trust people and this time I picked the correct people to trust; both with my funds being wired to Japan and with trusting that Mathew and his crew had my best interests in mind. 						I first stumbled upon Japan Car Direct LLC through their Facebook page and on their website. I plan on writing a full review once my car arrives, but at the current moment I wish I could give them more than a 5/5. First, their website is extremely professional and has all of the information that you could ask for. The coolest part about the entire process is getting access to the auction house by registering with them. You can then see (and get translations) for the cars of your choice! Mathew and Scott providing AMAZING customer service. This being my first time, they answered more than 50 e-mails of my questions, and were always very professional. They did not pressure me to purchase a car either, rather, I gave them my specifications and they worked with me to find the vehicle of my choice. I believe their service charge is more than fair considering they do the bulk of the work for you. No matter what time of day, it seemed like Mat and Scott were there to help! In addition to cars, they can help you find parts, which I will need some for my car! While we did run into some minor issues (like my delaying of payment since they are international, and some [dealer - not Japan Car Direct] translation issues with the dealer we bought the car from), Mat and Scott quickly worked to resolve them. Overall, they are great guys, and I will purchase again from them again. If only they could invent a hoverboard to make the car arrive faster :)

						The good people at JCD, Mason and Matt in particular, could not have been more supportive. They helped me through the auction selection process, translated a lot of auction sheets for me, and between us we successfully bid on my perfect vehicle. They walked me through getting it on a freight ship, sent me details of how to track my car halfway around the globe, also put me in touch with the right people in the UK to get my purchase through customs. They were always kind and courteous, and very understanding about the time difference issues between the UK and Japan. They always kept me up-to-date on the status of each step along the journey. All-in-all I had a really great experience dealing with them and also when adding up all the costs involved (purchase/freight/import fees/tax/registration/etc.) I got a £12k vehicle for below £7k. Super happy with the service/experience/results... would use them again in a heartbeat.

						I worked with JapanCarDirect to import a 4WD van. It took three months, lots of legwork, a good auction score, and plenty of fees to pay, but I now have a fully legal and awesome van that is in great shape minus a few issues that are to be expected of a 25-year old van. It's super fun to drive, super unique, and I feel like I'm part of the community. I can pass VW vans and chuckle as they look at me driving RHD several inches above their vehicle. However, as my favorite youtuber subject matter expert on these kinds of vans, you have to be somewhat of an auto enthusiast to really enjoy these cars. You can find gold among the lower value vehicles. There's an element of risk buying from auction, but I got all vehicles I was really interested in inspected to give me more confidence completing the contraction, granting that I've never owned two vehicles before. Plus, I knew exactly what I wanted, so I was able to bid with confidence. Having two cars as driving options is super handy!

(Side note: if importing into the US, particularly Baltimore, I recommend arranging or planning for a steam-cleaning once it gets in, because US CBP/Dept of Ag will likely require one anyways.)

I was more certain of what I did not want! Mason, my guide, was patient, even for the silliest questions, and eventually we whittled the choice down and then the acquisition of said car. R-line Polo 4 years old. Mason did all the necessary, buying and shipping, including all the paperwork! Fantastic. So now my beautiful Polo is residing in my garage awaiting the DVLA! 						I purchased / imported some cars from Japan to USA with others before using JCD, so I have a little experience ...Although I am just doing this for fun I have imported 7 cars now. The 3 I bought before going with JCD all had hidden problems. Of course, buying auction cars is always "buyer beware". But with JCD Yoshi always pointed out small details and gave some suggestions before the bidding. He didn't say "no, don't do it" but gave a hint ... ok a few times he definitely said "DON'T" ... but that's what I want and need from someone facilitating this kind of purchase! Communication has always been A+ from Yoshi and JCD. They are on the ball... The fees are reasonable, and while I bet you can get a car to a US port for a few dollars less, I am not sure why you would want to. There are A LOT of misrepresented cars in the Japan auction system. It's thorough in some ways, but you have to know the risks and do what you can to mitigate them. JCD should really be part of that plan, part of understanding what you are going to get before you get it. A couple hundred bucks for inspections or other JCD services could prevent thousands later. I know because I learned the hard way by using others before coming to my senses and using JCD.

						Without the help I got from Mason @ Japan Car Direct, I couldn't have been able to easily import my first JDM to Canada. He was very quick to respond to my emails and was patiently available day in and day out. Mason provided ongoing support to help me select the car I wanted and translated the Japanese description from the auction website. He used to record videos to explain all the available info about the cars I selected and helped me exclude the cars with features I didn't want. Mason also offered his expert advice about the maximum bidding amount but worked hard to get the car with the lowest price possible. He was amazingly dedicated to make sure I got what I wanted and patiently answered all my questions. He then helped me get extra inspections after winning the auction. I had no concern transferring money to buy and bid for the car because I know for sure that Mason and his friends at JCD are trust worthy. If I ever want to import another JDM car, Mason and his friends, Mathew and Scott are the guys that I would do business with.

						I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with Scott and Japan Car Direct for almost 10 years now. I already owned a kei truck when I found JCD but was looking for an honest and reliable way to source new and used OEM parts from Japan. Scott and JCD was the way to go! He has always been there to take an email or skype call to answer any question I may have. Provides translations and offers plenty of advice from sourcing parts to different shipping options. I’ve been able to import OEM kei truck parts for far less than buying aftermarket parts from a handful of dealers here in the US. With EMS shipping, I’ve had parts in as quick as 3 days. 						I cannot recommend scott, matt and the japancardirect team enough for importing vehicles. From initial contact right through until the process of collecting the vehicle from Bristol docks they have guided me step by step to make the entire process as easy as buying a vehicle in the uk. I have now imported 4 vehicles with these guys help including a 6.5 metre Winnebago!!! I would not use anyone else for my importing needs and their friendly helpful manner will make what can seem like a daunting task simple and an easily accessible market for high grade vehicles. Thanks guys and I hope to spend many more years importing vehicles through you. 👍👍👍

						I recently found JCD through an article online about importing vehicles into the US. I sent them an email and Yoshiro was quick to get back. He too was from California which was helpful when it came to registering the vehicle, recommending diesel vehicles. When it came to finding a vehicle, I essentially send Yoshiro the link's to vehicles that I want translated. But he takes it a step further often using his own personal intuition to let me know if we should pass or bid on a vehicle. To be honest I was a little skeptical at first. Buying and shipping a vehicle from another country is a scary project. About two months later we were about to find a 1996 Townace in good condition at a great price...Yoshiro can tell you how difficult I was in finding it. 100% recommend Yoshiro and the guys at Japan Car Direct and am already looking for my 2nd import!

						Mathew was great to work with and made the process smooth through explanations and doing lots of research. If you are looking at buying a mini-truck I highly recommend these guys. They know the product well, know the auctions system in Japan, and are a good representative of you as the buyer in the process, AND, throughout the whole process, stay in touch, work very hard finding just the right truck, and answer every question you or could ever come up with. Very trustworthy service.
