						This was my first time ever buying a car, let alone one from overseas. I was very nervous at first, but the guys at Japan Car Direct are excellent! In particular I dealt with Yoshiro and he provided amazing service and helped me from step 1 all the way until I received the vehicle. If you're unsure about absolutely anything, you can ask them and they'll be more than happy to help you. Yoshiro helped me find an excellent little Audi TT in great condition that I couldn't be more happy about owning! I never would've been able to find a deal like this in my home country. The process is very simple(Refer to their site for a lot more in-depth details on how the process works and a ton of other information): 1. Find a car you like on the auction search engine (can access by simply making an account on their website) 2. Send the auction listing to them and they'll translate the sheet into English for you 3. This step is not mandatory, but you can get an inspection prior to bidding for a insanely good price, I highly recommend. 4. If you still want to bid, let them know your maximum bid. 5. If you win the bid, then just sit back whilst they handle ALL of the next steps for you, they really make it easy! 6. Depending on your country, your import process will be different to clear customs, but Yoshiro even set that entire process up for me! (Note: You're responsible for passing any inspections in order to get insurance in your country, but for me the process was still very simple) It's really as simple as that. All I had to do in the entire process was pick a car I like, and pay for it. You are in good hands with the guys at this company. They'll make sure you get a good car and only one that you'll be happy with. Truly a breath of fresh air when you find that one company that very clearly works for you as the customer to find the absolute best deal for you. I'm definitely going to be looking at buying another vehicle through these guys in the future!

						Yesterday I took delivery of my 1995 Subaru Sambar (Kei or "Mini Truck" I could not be happier with the service provided by Japan Car Direct and with the vehicle itself. Mathew was unfailingly kind, patient, and helpful through the process. He helped me to understand more about Sambars specifically and Kei trucks in general, as well as everything from bidding through shipping and customs clearance (though they do not provide that service per se). 						I was introduced to Japan Car Direct (JCD) through a friend that imported his own Kei truck. Prior to me reaching out to JCD, I researched many other online buyers of JDM cars for many years and came away very disappointed for various reasons: their buyer's fee or fees were ridiculously high; the price of their cars were ridiculously high; they seemed ambivalent about my needs; their English was not strong; the selection of their cars were very limited and/or their stock was full of cars that had been there for months, if not years. 						Since a kid the FD RX7 has always been a dream car but i didn't pursue it till i graduated high school but the prices just for the shell over here in california was over 15k!! I kept looking around until I decided i would just import one. I found JCD while looking for the top 5 importers you could trust and they stood out more than all the other ones, and for a couple months of more research on their page until I ultimately decided I would go through them. Although this was my first time getting a car from Japan and having an endless amount questions spanning a couple hundred emails until it would freeze up and i had to make a new email thread .. I didn't have all the funds in the beginning but they were very patient with it until i was fully ready, then after a month of having Matt give his thought on some of the FDs i was looking at we finally won the auction for a 94 Efini type R Fd3s. 						I used Japan Car Direct to bid and win a Daihatsu HiJet Cargo. Mason was my point of contact and was brilliant in guiding me through the process, detailing how to make the initial deposit to allow bidding, detailing the auction costs and shipping costs, so that I could work out a budget. The platform for searching vehicles that are coming to auction was easy to use, and Mason was very helpful in explaining all the vehicle description codes and provided a really useful review for individual vehicles that I short listed, and then arranged for the vehicle to be independently inspected prior to bidding. Payment on my winning vehicle was straight forward by BACs to Japan Car Direct and then Mason took care of arranging shipping, and sending through the bill of lading and other documents. Once the vehicle arrived at the JCD yard I received very comprehensive photos. Shipping took about 7 weeks from Japan to Newcastle in the UK, and the vehicle arrived safely in perfect condition. I used RJJ Freight for customs clearance, which made the process of getting the vehicle into the UK stress free.

						I purchased a JDM 2008 Toyota Prius through Japan Car Direct last year. The export agent, Mason, was easy to work with and made the process predictable and straight forward, so there were no surprises or hidden costs with the car itself and with logistics. The logistics supplier that Mason referred to in Vancouver to import the car into Canada was also very helpful and made the process stress free. Mason went above and beyond just facilitating the transaction and sourced new tires, rims, and accessories for the car that the car needed or that didn't come with the car. This was a big help as these parts and accessories for a 2008 Prius were either unavailable in Canada or would have cost an arm and a leg to purchase through a dealership. I was amazed at how good condition the car was in when it arrived. I picked it up in Vancouver and, right off the boat, drove it over 4000km straight to Ontario to get it home without any mechanical issues along the way.

He was very quick to respond to my emails and was patiently available day in and day out. Mason provided ongoing support to help me select the car I wanted and translated the Japanese description from the auction website. He used to record videos to explain all the available info about the cars I selected and helped me exclude the cars with features I didn't want. 						First time purchasing a car of my choice. JCD were absolutely brilliant. Initially, I was unsure of what exactly I wanted (Make, age, colour, mileage). I was more certain of what I did not want! Mason, my guide, was patient, even for the silliest questions, and eventually we whittled the choice down and then the acquisition of said car. R-line Polo 4 years old. Mason did all the necessary, buying and shipping, including all the paperwork! Fantastic. So now my beautiful Polo is residing in my garage awaiting the DVLA! 						Just finished successfully importing my first JDM vehicle with the help of Mike and japan car direct and I am really impressed with the help and professionalism. Buying and importing a car is not like walking into a dealer and handing over money. There are a lot of regulations and processes that need to be taken car of and I am glad I chose the experts at JCD to get me through the process. The translations of auction sheets were really helpful and they answered so many questions from me that helped me understand the grade ratings, condition of cars and get exactly what I wanted. On port day, when I was at the Customs office waiting to get my paperwork stamped, I saw others in front of me find out they didn't have the right paperwork or didn't file things correctly and could never register their car and I was so glad, I had all my documentation from JCD and it was all done right. Saving up for my next JDM bucket list car to buy from JCD!

						The good people at JCD, Mason and Matt in particular, could not have been more supportive. They helped me through the auction selection process, translated a lot of auction sheets for me, and between us we successfully bid on my perfect vehicle. They walked me through getting it on a freight ship, sent me details of how to track my car halfway around the globe, also put me in touch with the right people in the UK to get my purchase through customs. They were always kind and courteous, and very understanding about the time difference issues between the UK and Japan. They always kept me up-to-date on the status of each step along the journey. All-in-all I had a really great experience dealing with them and also when adding up all the costs involved (purchase/freight/import fees/tax/registration/etc.) I got a £12k vehicle for below £7k. Super happy with the service/experience/results... would use them again in a heartbeat.

						I recently found JCD through an article online about importing vehicles into the US. I sent them an email and Yoshiro was quick to get back. He too was from California which was helpful when it came to registering the vehicle, recommending diesel vehicles. When it came to finding a vehicle, I essentially send Yoshiro the link's to vehicles that I want translated. But he takes it a step further often using his own personal intuition to let me know if we should pass or bid on a vehicle. To be honest I was a little skeptical at first. Buying and shipping a vehicle from another country is a scary project. About two months later we were about to find a 1996 Townace in good condition at a great price...Yoshiro can tell you how difficult I was in finding it. 100% recommend Yoshiro and the guys at Japan Car Direct and am already looking for my 2nd import!

						I first stumbled upon Japan Car Direct LLC through their Facebook page and on their website. I plan on writing a full review once my car arrives, but at the current moment I wish I could give them more than a 5/5. First, their website is extremely professional and has all of the information that you could ask for. The coolest part about the entire process is getting access to the auction house by registering with them. You can then see (and get translations) for the cars of your choice! Mathew and Scott providing AMAZING customer service. This being my first time, they answered more than 50 e-mails of my questions, and were always very professional. They did not pressure me to purchase a car either, rather, I gave them my specifications and they worked with me to find the vehicle of my choice. I believe their service charge is more than fair considering they do the bulk of the work for you. No matter what time of day, it seemed like Mat and Scott were there to help! In addition to cars, they can help you find parts, which I will need some for my car! While we did run into some minor issues (like my delaying of payment since they are international, and some [dealer - not Japan Car Direct] translation issues with the dealer we bought the car from), Mat and Scott quickly worked to resolve them. Overall, they are great guys, and I will purchase again from them again. If only they could invent a hoverboard to make the car arrive faster :)

						Mathew and the gang were great with helping me with the acquisition of my 1994 Subaru Sambar dump kei truck. I was so excited about getting a truck I was ready to buy just about anything. Matt put the breaks on that and used his experience and knowledge to weed out the potential problems. I use my truck almost daily around our farm moving things and as a work surface. It is great. Mathew and Japan Car Direct helped my sister get a kei truck as well and I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who has expressed interest in my great little vehicle.
